Melanie burbridge - Stepped outside

She stepped out side standing all alone
She can feel the cold breeze against her shoulder
And the chilled rains run down her cheek
This is the most painful feeling she has ever known
To not have someone there too stop the pain
Deep down she knows it’s partly her fault
That she had slowly stepped outside
And she knows she has also been pushed
But she can see that the breeze is getting warmer
She could see from outside she was the only one
That could be her only true friend
The girl that would bring her from the outside
That would pull her back to where they had begun
She still has glimpses of what it’s like to be on the other side
Where it is cold and lonely where you can almost feel the end
Until she stepped outside she never would have tried
To make her see how much she truly cared
And would have never thought she could miss her
Even though she was right inside she could not get in
She felt as though their battle for friendship could never be won
But now she knows that she must fight her way back from the outside
And that they were meant to be the way they are
They are each others soul each others heart beat
Without each other they will never be complete
Now that she has stepped outside and pulled her in
She can feel that she is whole again now that they are one
But even if they stepped outside they will still be each others shooting star
