Melanie Agua - At Seventy-Five

Ecstatic once,
good old years
of youth's confidence.
swaggered a red carpet,
even without a crowd.

I didn't notice
when neighbors whined
and houses sprawled to rot
because I was young,
soaked in clouds.

Aged now but not quite;
For she's remembered
like petals of dawn.
Wherever she may be,
blows back life to me.
