Megan Kinkel - The Fire

The fire it burns,
So bright and hot.
I want to hold it,
I'd better not.

It feels so warm,
And glows with brilliance,
Filled with beauty,
But not with radiance.

Heat from the flames,
Fills the room,
Encasing everything,
In its fiery tomb.

Drowning in embers,
I try to shout,
But the reality is,
I can't get out.

For the fire consumes,
But I love it all the same,
Even the pain it brings,
I can't escape its flame.

Fire should purify,
But this fire taints,
There are no pretty pictures,
But evils it paints.

I know to stay away,
From the fire light,
But I can't take it
Out of my sight.
