'Meat ban should not be opposed'
Description
Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Friday (September 11) said that people should not oppose the meat ban imposed by Government in view of Paryushan, a Jain festival of forgiveness. "Mahatma Gandhi had said that Hindus must not consume Pork, and similarly Muslims should give up on beef in order to respect each other's religious values," he said. "If Government has imposed ban on meat for few days considering sentiments of a certain community. Then it should not be opposed," he added. The fever of banning meat and beef spread has with such directives being issued in Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Ahmedabad even as controversy continued to rage in Mumbai where the High Court ruled that a prohibition on sale of meat is not feasible.
