Description

After deportation from Guatemala, John McAfee takes time out in Miami Beach.

The anti-virus software pioneer is on the run from police in Belize who want to question him about a murder, although they say he is not a prime suspect.

McAfee's former neighbour Gregory Faull was fatally shot in November.

The tech guru denies any involvement and says he hardly even knew his neighbour.

SOUNDBITE: JOHN MCAFEE SAYING (English):

"I never had dinner with him. I've spoken fifty words to him. I don't drink. I don't do drugs. Everybody on the island drinks heavily. I don't associate with anybody except my own employees who are required not to drink and do drugs."

McAfee claims he's being persecuted by Belize because he refused to pay a bribe.

SOUNDBITE: JOHN MCAFEE SAYING (English):

"They send forty two armed soldiers on to my property shot my dog, held me in a torture pose with my hands handcuffed behind me for fourteen hours. Try that, after six the pain becomes unbearable. [JOURNALIST ASKS WHY?] "Because I didn't give them money" [JOURNALIST ASKS HOW MUCH DID THEY WANT?] "Two million".

McAfee has offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the murder.

But the victim's family say it's "a hollow gesture".
