Maya Neelima - Painted Shadow

It was painted dark,
Of a lonely childhood,
Broken toys
And unanswered cries.

It was painted red,
Of a rebellious adolescent,
Stolen love,
And vague choices.

It was painted blue,
Of a boiling youth,
Harmless realisations,
And woven schemes.

It was painted green,
When I bloomed,
Mother recipe,
And painless guide.

It was painted yellow,
Of wrinkled old page,
Bedside window,
And hazy memories.

It was painted colorless,
Of solace in graveyard,
Empty canvas,
And lack of light.

I painted my shadows,
Colors not enough,
But when shadows met,
A rainbow was born,
And a life just rained!
