May Day protests in Paris turn violent

May Day protests in France have turned violent, forcing police to use tear gas and water cannons and arrest more than 200 protestors.
Scenes from Tuesday's rallies show hooded individuals throwing projectiles at police and through shop windows.
Police had been warned the day before of possible clashes with far-left anarchist groups, known as Black Blocs, after a call on social media for a "Revolutionary Day."
The rallies on Labor Day come amid continued anger toward President Emmanuel Macron's economic reform plans, which involve privatizing the state rail operator and public universities.
Labor unions see his plans as a rollback to France's cherished public service and favoring the wealthy.
