Max Reif - Holiday

Blessed day,
break in the lollipop-trees
passing along routine's
ho-hum road!

Blessed time
to sip-savor breath:
No marching today!

Pausing, standing,
s t r e t c h i n g:
the world is SPACE,

no sharp progression
of lines and right angles.
Lines, right angles live within
a 360 degree circumference:
round, inclusive.

Eyes need not lock
a gaze down tomorrow's road.
The body need not go to bed early
as the mind prepares
the next forced march forward.

Eyes, drinking color, all but weep
momentarily remembering
the march resumes on Monday.
