Max Reif - Emotion

My friend's cat is 18 years old.
Today after the IV treatment
we give him three times a week
to help his kidneys function,

he jumped off the front porch to go play,
but his feet wouldn't support him
and he landed crazily,
sideways on the ground.
He kept getting up,
and trying to walk.
Every time,
his front leg would buckle
and he'd go sprawling,

and I saw that look: helplessness
looks the same on any face.
