Matthew McConaughey on 'McConaissance'

Matthew McConaughey's star continues to rise.

The actor was given the American Cinematheque Award, an honor presented to filmmakers and actors making significant contributions to the world of cinema.

It's been quite a year for McConaughey, who won a best actor Oscar in March for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club" and earned critical acclaim and an Emmy nob for his work on the HBO series, "True Detective."

All this success has been dubbed the McConaissance.
