Matsuo Basho's Native Place I
Description
The internationally famous Japanese Poet, Matsuo Basho, born in the Yedo Period 1644 wrote this famous poem about bananas:
"Basho uete/mazu nikumi ogi no/futaba kana."
"By my new banana plant/the first sign of something I loathe/a miscanthus bud!" year 1680.
