USPSA Handgun Match
Cavalier, Montpelier, VA (Greater Richmond Blasters)
August 15th, 2015
Limited Division
D Class
I slept out in a tent on Maiatico land (Ruther Glen, VA), then went to this USPSA handgun match. It had it's ups and downs, but I had fun. Stage 4 was my best finish, but I had some makeup shots & one of the Texas Star plates did not fall after the first hit (whereas another one also had a delayed fall after being hit). Stage 3 was a backing out stage where I chose to back out (instead of running to the back, then proceeding as if starting there). I caught myself almost racking during my draw, which threw my pace off, so I pushed a reload back by 2 targets. I should've hosed down the last 3 targets faster. Stage 2 had this crazy low position where I decided to just throw one round at the steel popper as I moved on. I ended up wasting time looking at it. It was a miss too. Then, I forgot to reload as I moved out of the low position (off-plan is bad). I had a few makeup shots in the last position too, so I left a lot of time out there. Stage 5 was a classifier I did a C Class performance on, but I caught myself flinching twice before engaging the second target (didn't waste ammo at least, but did waste time). Stage 6 I jacked up by accidentally/incidentally/unintentionally contacting a wall prop (port, left side), which isn't allowed if the fault line does not connect with it (procedural penalty). I also had some misses on the far paper. I still don't know if it's the factory zero or me slapping and/or flinching. (I need to bench rest it at 10, 15, 25, 35, & 50 yards to see what's up. I might also have a friend work the trigger in case I'm messing that up.) Stage 1, our first of the day (as Squad 1), was a nightmare.
Sorry about the tardiness of this video! I've been busy with travel, training our new puppy, etc. Thanks to you for viewing! Please leave a like if you do, subscribe (encourages me to keep going), and comment with conversation, questions, coaching, encouragement, or whatever. I appreciate feedback and interaction.
