Mass rally for Salafi candidate in Egypt poll

Thousands of people have demonstrated in support of the Egyptian Salafi leader Hazem Abu Ismail amid reports that he may not be allowed to participate in the upcoming presidential election.

The ultra-conservative leader registered as a candidate a week ago, but there are allegations that his mother holds US citizenship which would disqualify him from running.
