Mary Nagy - My Final Goodbye Notes

It's the fear
of an early departure
mixed with knowledge
of things left unsaid.

I sit biting my lip
as I write this.
I don't notice the pain
till I've bled.

Do I say
''Goodbye'' or ''See ya later''?
Overwhelmed by this
feeling of dread.

They all know that my heart
was made for them
(or made by them
as I've often said) .

I must go with the plan of returning
still I plan so I leave no regrets.
I have written my final goodbye notes
with the hopes they will never be read.
