Wall Street rose on Thursday as reports the U.S. and the European Union may agree to withdraw auto tariffs on each other.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 182 points, or three-quarters of a percent, to 24,356.
The S&P 500 gained 23 points, or almost zero-point-nine percent, to 2,736.
The Nasdaq Composite 84 points, or one-point-one percent, to 7,586.

Stocks ended lower on Thursday.
The benchmark KOSPI fell eight points, or 0.35 percent, to 2,265.
The secondary KOSDAQ was down thwo-thirds of a percent at 794.
