Mark Sebert - Clones

a blue, spiky hairdo with pink fringes
around the base; caressing the ears
impressing with cheers, as the dangle
shining rings around it sneers
in vivid rebellion, to all called
normal; a painted embrace, the eyes
hide from disgrace, above another sneer;
below in the mouth is a stud
to chew or suck; showing all
who judge, free expression will win
unless you show concern
for the outward manifesto
a gesture, a look is considered
rude, but give me a break
a clown would shake his head
to the obscenity and vulgarity,
the outright stupidity, of conforming
to so-called freedom while clinging to peers
who ignore the obvious
going down the same road as everyone
else, claiming independence
but stripped of common sense
be yourself - not a copy or
a clone of punkish, attitude people
if it yields to a blue spike or chain
in the nose this should be the result
of a careful deliberation instead
of emotional appeals.
