Mark Money - Detour

it’s two hours past the time
she said she’d be here

i left the front door unlocked
for her, then fell asleep.
i just woke up to her not here

i thought she had a clean shot
from Tijuana to Taos—
maybe she made a wrong turn.
maybe she took a detour.

i’ll leave the front door unlocked
and try to stay awake—
