Mark Dillon - Sunday Funday

Sunday's here, I'll have a lie-in.
No hurry or haste for my day to begin.
Read a book, watch a film,
Have breakfast in bed.
What to do later swirling round in my head.

The sun shines through my window
sparking thoughts for a walk.
Meet up with some friends, a drink and some talk.
Put the world to rights with some jest and good cheer.
Tell a good joke and order more beer.

The evening flows merrily and the banter is fine.
I know by tonight I won't walk a straight line.
But the music sounds good and my resistance is weak.
And there'll be enough crap to worry about
for the rest of the week.
