Marjorie DeBol DeFazio - January
16 Views • Jun 11, 2014
Description
The sun sent red streaks across the sky
Warning weather changes
Now the bright, blinding ball is lighting the frost
Giving delicate beauty to the grasses, the cabin roof and the pond
Thirteen days into this new year
Below zero temperatures
A January thaw that brought spring
Tomorrow more snow
Winter started in the fall
Almost two feet of snow
Fierce winds, ice and driving rain
The thaw
Melted layers of snow
Watered the fields and creeks
Changed the icy river
To a muddy swirl lapping at the banks
Tonight, snow will cover everything with a clean, new blanket
