Marines Test A Machine Gun-Wielding Robot
Description
by Jeff Donlan
The Marines are testing a machine gun-wielding robot that they hope to make fully autonomous. The Multi-Utility Tactical Transport, or MUTT, is a mini tank equipped with a .50-caliber machine gun. It’s currently controlled by a tablet and joystick, but the Marines hope to make it fully autonomous. The robots were originally designed to transport food, water, and other supplies. The Marines have been testing 50 of the machine gun-equipped MUTTs to prepare for possible future battles.
