Marilyn Lott - The 50's
2 Views • Nov 07, 2014
Description
Such a different time than it is today
With poodle skirts and those classic cars
Drive-in movies under the stars
And Elvis who made the girls’ heart stop
The jitter bug dance at the school sock hop
We’d pull right into the old drive-in
Watching for boys was our innocent sin
Flirtin’ was all we wanted to do
With our bright red lipstick and our poofy hair-do
The car-hop came out to take our order
Didn’t get very much ‘cause we were so poor
We’d go to a restaurant for a soda and fries
Where girls smiled cute and batted their eyes
At boys in rolled sleeves and tight blue jeans
A place that was filled with those 50s teens
Pictures of movie stars like Monroe and Dean
Plastered on walls to be worshiped and seen
The hoola-hoops were our exercise
That kept off the weight from those greasy fries
Put a coin in the jukebox and dance if you could
So... if you could go back today do you think you would?
