Marilyn Lott - Night Of Solid Ice

The night was solid ice
Like crystal on everything
Frozen, clear and silent
The air wore an icy sting

Naked branches encased
In a sparkling winter dress
For they were totally embraced
By a freezing artic caress

Daggers of icicles formed
And hung from every tree
I snuggled into my coat
So cold it was for me

I grabbed my trusty camera
With my warm gloves in place
Aimed and snapped pictures
But nothing was done in haste

For it’s the magical time for
Artists and photographers too
To create the perfect picture
And I wrote this poem for you!
