Marilyn Lott - Just for Mother

As I look through old letters and cards
Sent to my mother years ago
They really bring back memories
Because I love her so

Especially as Mother’s Day
Is getting so very close
When I thought about the past
Many special memories arose

I look at pictures of my childhood
And I treasure every one
She put all she had into raising
A daughter and a son

I find letters dating way back
Long before I was ever born
Some look like they were sent yesterday
While others are very worn

Reading cards and letters
Bring memories that linger still
They were sent just for mother
And I can’t seem to get my fill!
