Marilyn Lott - Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam is just amazing
We were privileged to observe
Nestled in the Colorado River
A construction that has served

The building began in 1931
And it was completed in 1935
Two years ahead of schedule
It was really an amazing drive

This dam was named for a president
Herbert Hoover was his name
If it hadn’t been for this structure
Nothing will be quite the same

This dam was considered to be
And it’s not at all a mystery
One of the greatest engineering
Projects in American history!
