Description

I don’t want to be brutal
I don’t want to be rude
But what I have to say today is
Nothing but soul food

I don’t know about you but

I’m so tired of waking up in human tragedy
All the ones that bring big promises but empty
I love to see my brothers and sisters walking hands in hands
But I never support the ones that try to break the chains
The chains of Love, Justice, Peace and what’s right
The chains of Militants dedicated to peacefully fight
No one will make me what I am
Because, my family, I know who I am
When was the last time you looked at our family tree?
Or tell me are you still blind talking about “I am free”
Well we can only be strong when we are together
Don’t push me away and when in need calling me “Hey, my lover”

Please don’t say you don’t trust your own people
Because that’s what they, is that what you truly believe
Such negative propaganda will make you and I, a forgotten fable
My people watch what you say, how you act and what you conceive

We can’t forget our Haitians that shed blood in Savannah, GA
For you that sleep, tell me there’s no inequality after Katrina
When you speak of truth, you get tagged – so no more let me say
For what it’s worth, hope after today you find a purpose and your way.

So traumatized by our stories and such past
Our story is one to be proud of, make your heritage last.
