Description

Santa Clause is back again
Winter night’s bright lights that shine.
As homeless sleep in cardboard boxes.
Huddled from the happy grins of people,
Who mill around the seasons sales,
Beneath the beacon lights, of a steely spiral tower.

Shoppers who pretend not to see the empty faces.
Who once were children full of glee.
As older people that live alone
There’s no-one there, just memories,
Of times gone past..
A Christmas card, a snowy ball.
That sits upon the mantel wall.

As turkeys lay upon a plate,
The dinner set the tables laid.
For those to sit around in greed, but not to appreciate,
That behind some doors the tables bare.
The children here know it’s unfair,
But nothing can undo the damage done.
Forgotten already, it will not be a day of fun.

While in the churches hymns are heard aloud.
Amongst the much religious crowed,
But really does anyone care?
No not for those who are alone,
Happy Christmas no-one’s home.
