Like a broken record player
You’re stuck on repeat
Singing the same old tune
That’s perished
Into the dust of time
In your heart you think
You’re still alive
Dancing with the wolves
On their high legs
But then come those days
When you see the world
With a different tune
Scream
Run
Hide
From the souls
Who sing their songs
For you
Close off your ears
Keep them out
They aren’t what you desire
To hear
To feel
To understand
Close off your mind
Disconnect
Sing the tune
You know by heart
Like a broken record player
You are not moved
And useless
Until fixed
