Fills the air

An onomatopoeic sound
Fills one’s ears
Upon delivery
The bouquet of death

‘Tis Edgar Allen Poe
Reciting verse
His shadow growing darker
In crescendo

The tolling bells
Need no rehearse
Their end result
Is inevitable
