This show will run into March, 2012 and is free of charge. It is at the PAVILLON CARRE DE BAUDOUIN at 121, rue de Ménilmontant, 75020 Paris France. Telephone 01 58 53 55 40. It is open from Tuesdays until Saturdays, is in an 18th century building, and you can visit for free from 11 am until 6 pm. The métro is called GAMBETTA. There is lots of shopping in the neighborhood, particularly for food.

Marcel Storr was born in 1911 and died in 1971. A Parisian orphan, beaten and so he became deaf, he worked menial jobs and never had any art training. He considered himself a genius and said Picasso was no good, as he couldn't draw. His artworks reference fantastic architecture, often science fiction-y in nature. After his wife died, he ended up in Saint-Denis, where I live, and died in poverty, obscurity and bad health. Only by his leaving his artworks to a couple does this collection exist at all.

Many of the museums run by the City of Paris are always free. Some of the museums which charge in France, you can get in for free the first Sunday of every month. Get there early as there may be long lines for the very big, famous and popular ones.
