Marathi to be compulsory from Class I-VIII across state

There seems to be a fresh Diktat from the Devendra Fadnavis government. Pushing the students in Maharashtra schools to learn Marathi till class VIII. Education Minister Vinod Tawde has formed a 13 member coordination committee to implement the instructions given by Minister regarding inclusion of Marathi language in course curriculum for minimum 8 years. As also compulsory teaching of local history and geography of Maharashtra to students till class V. Even the non-state or central boards that get a license to teach only after inclusion of Marathi classes for 4 years. Will have to now teach it for 4 more years if the plan is implemented.
