beautiful bloom between rocks
red petals barely coming out
only rays of light can see, hidden
from prying eyes; cruel insects
unfriendly nails lurking valley
picking things they love to carry

coolness of night feeds its thirst
endure whole; part of afternoon
rain wash away dust from hills
left markers, streaks of lines
where ants march in search
morning brightness leftovers
