Manoj Kumar - After a War

The sky has broken down
peace and harmony seem as dreams,
oceans are filled with corpses
and throats cramped with screams.

Men turned to cannibals,
lands drenched with blood.
Oh! Lord what this sphere's become
can we cease this flood?

Sitting on a mound of carcasses
and pounding on the war we fought,
I found my mind baffled
with every frightful thought.

Once this earth has lived
and lived every drop of blood.
Then why my land is cursed to death
and every face has lost his breath.

They fought for glory,
so they fought with glory.
But what did they gain,
only sorrow and pain.

Who is left alive to win,
this fight of head for head.
Bodies with no souls,
or the guns which shot them dead.
