in the dark,
here she stands alone in her thoughts.
unaware of,
the life that's passing right by her.

she's always feeling,
like giving up and holding on her tongue.
feel the words burn up
inside her mouth like poison.

can't you see it in her eyes?
her story deep beneath,
but you don't realize -
the weight on her shoulders sinking in.

crying out for a hand
no one seems to understand,
what it's like to want someone to hold (her tight) .
lost in the dreams
that keep her safe from reality.
can she find what's hiding deep beneath?

here comes the rainfall
from the tears locked in her soul.
she starts feeling numb,
wondering if someone's going to come.

take her away,
she gets down on her knees and starts to pray.
'help me find the strength
to get me through another day.'

can't you ever see it there in her eyes?
the truth deep beneath,
but you don't realize -
the deception sinking in.
