Mandi June - The Passing

Until the end of days is closed upon us
And forces on our memories to reflect,
On gifts and trials, all that we have promised;
The broken vows, and all those that were kept.

Each passing breath leaves traces of our being,
Until our humbled spirits float away,
And, even then, with universal seeing,
The remnants of our souls will not decay.

The difference made with but the smallest gesture;
The playful grin that warms another's heart,
And, wearing not a shrouded, blackened vesture,
Our lives are shared with those that we depart.

So, fear not death, for it will come at will
To all that lives, a certain binding fate,
But, comfort in the strength that lingers still,
That particles of hope will recreate.
