Man in Eiffel Tower suicide leap

A man has committed suicide by jumping from the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

He had scaled the iconic 320 metre structure to a point between the second and third levels.

Emergency services said suicides from the tower are not unheard of but it is rare from such a height.

They said he spoke English, but the Foreign Office in London told euronews he was not a British citizen.
