Man creates hydrogen explosion during home experiment

A home science experiment ended in a hydrogen explosion when a man attempted to extract the gas via electrolysis of water. The 44-year-old man wanted to make hydrogen fuel for his car and got the idea from the Internet. He tried to store the hydrogen he produced in a 5-gallon propane tank, but it exploded. Shocks were felt blocks away and the man suffered serious burns. He was airlifted to a hospital he was in a serious condition.
