Malaysia's DIY Train Simulator
Description
Four guys from Prasarana have come together to build their own Kelana Jaya LRT train simulator from scratch. Their prototype cost them RM24,000 (US$5,382) to build and a year to complete. Ordering one off the shelves can cost up to RM5 (US$1.1) mil a piece.
Train station officers have to know how to drive a train in an emergency. But the limited tracks and available time mean they don't get much space for practice. A simulator like this would help overcome that.
