You told me, 'I'll be there for you'
whispered sweet nothings in my ear
but when I seeked your guidance
found that you were never here
You told me, 'I was special'
and nothing like the others
but we were never together
really, no more than lovers
You told me, 'I got your back'
anytime you need a love
but whenever I would call
you abandoned me again
I told you, 'I was hurting'
but ignorance led your heart
I told you, 'I was dying'
but you never gave a solace!
I told you, 'It was over'
still you begged for me to stay
I told you, 'If I do'
things'll have to go my way
But you didn't want to listen
so now I'm thinking through
all the pain you I suffer
now that I am abandoned.
