The sky darkens, as I stare at the moon
I can only remember I have to leave soon
I knew I could not stay here for long
But, where I stand, nothing feels wrong
As I stand tall, and stare at the sky
I keep asking myself why?
Why does reality hurt you?
Why doesn’t everything seem true?
Why do the ones you love break you?
Why is there nothing we can do?
Why is it that there is no love anymore?
Why is it that everyone seems poor?
Why do men hurt children?
Why do you seem older at age ten?
Why do little kids have no one to look up to?
Why must parents scream at you?
Why is it girls get labeled and boys do not?
Why can people have affairs and not get caught?
I lost my train of thought
So many times that we’ve fought
Why can’t we just go back
To where we were before?
Where there was no war?
