Werner & Mertz was founded in 1867. It first became famous for its shoe polish brand called Erdal but is today perhaps best known for the frog logo that adorns its household cleaning products.Werner & Mertz now uses its logo for a broad range of products from toilet cleaners to floor care items and liquid air fresheners. Last year it posted a turnover of 284 million euros. The company is now planning to increase its exports and has high hopes for the demand for organic cleaning products. The boss of Werner & Mertz says his firm is not affected by the economic crisis and he expects turnover to increase 7% this year. Report by Marion Hütter.
