Mad Gone - Amazing Grace

Walking on that green hill one day,
I fear I had but lost my way.
With sorrow immersed too deep within my heart,
In this world I felt, I could no longer play my part.
When I asked of who should care,
I felt your forgiving and understanding stare.
The grace you filled me with out there,
I wonder if I rightly ever should deserve.

When at times I have been tested,
Too weak I find, too easily hate invested.
I try to turn the other cheek,
And your forgiveness I often seek.
The lessons of life that come and go,
I have learnt are simply what you sow!
Great joy I have learnt to think but of the best,
When I lay the devil and his ways to rest.

While I know you are always near,
I selfishly always want you here!
Often when I have the most to fear,
Is when I learnt to hold you dear.
But I have now grown enough to learn,
Your love and gifts must first be earned.
How easy things have seemed since then,
Now that I am since, no longer ten!
