Description

Nature’s Deceit

The Drosera hides from its prey, two things
Both of which are true
Her radiance invites and destroys
Its perfect petals
A hidden masterpiece
Lures its prey with scent and sweet
That hints of the miraculous
In colors only God can make

Closing now, the green eye of spring
Hiding her decay under a frozen mantle
Mother Nature comes with hands
Of pale and perfect, forming the future
Of Dionaea and Drosera alike

It is not lying to seem one thing
Yet be another, we learn from the deceit of nature
We hide and wait and watch and learn from friends
As false as death
