Lucy Heart - Mirror

Closing my eyes
To dull the pain
Wil I open them?
I give in, again

I look into the mirror
What do I see?
To tell you the truth
It disgusts me

Then I glance at the girl
doing like me
But how does she feel?
What does she see?

She sees what I do
When I look at me
Why does she see this?
She's so skinny

Then I look at me again
Just a second glance
Have I lost any weight?
Just by chance

Has my acne cleared up?
Have my teeth turned white?
None of this happens
Its an everlasting fight

A fight with the mirror
No punches are thrown
All that it has done
Is let my flaws be shown

This bad body image
It doesnt feel right
But I will do it
I will win the fight

I am beautiful
Thats what i will think
My fear of the mirror
will be over in a blink

But its not that easy
This I cannot think
Sometimes image will
Push you to the brink.

The brink of hatred
The brink of despise
Maybe I am blind
To whats in front of my eyes

Away from this place
in a place way up there
thats where I'll go
noone will care

I'm sick of this hate
That I feel for me
I can no longer stand it
I can no longer be

I close my eyes
to dull the pain
Will I open them?
Never again
