Lozaan Khumbah - My Ithaca

Today I begin the voyage.
The sails are unfurled,
The anchor is let loose,
The wind drives me on,
I am headed for Ithaca.

To pray is to risk being not answered;
To love is to risk being hated,
To believe is to risk being proved false,
Yet to risk is the only way to attain;
So I am headed for Ithaca.

The sea is vast and deep
And storms I may face.
But there are ports on the way
And a star to lead me on;
I am headed for Ithaca.

Was Ithaca made for me?
I know not; all I know is
I am on my way to know it.
But I will not be found wanting,
So I am headed for Ithaca.

Ithaca is nowhere near sight.
And I seem all alone out at sea.
Yet other ships I may meet
All on their way to their Ithaca;
I am also headed for my Ithaca.
