This is our circus
Where we contort into imposable situations
Bending like freaks to our own desires
As limbo dancers
We get lower and lower
Till we hit the floor
Writhing in rage like venomous snakes
Our poison is so strong it fouls the air

Some tigers won’t be tamed
Never jumping through hoops
To court favour
So put your whip away

Up role the clowns
Smiling masks hiding wounded pride
Our slapstick routines are tired and stale
The spontaneity is gone
Without the moment
A clown is just a sad caricature

We are the trapeze
Trust dangling
Too unsure for a leap of faith
Love is a high wire act
One slip and illusion falls
Crashing to earth without style or grace

This is our circus
We are here to entertain
