lost soul - My Shadow

Like something that follows me everywhere I go
There when not and in my dreams
Makes me toss and turn and scream
I know what it is

I try to face it alone, but like nails on a chalkboard
When I get near
It is a nightmare that follows me around
Then I wake and it is real

Not as scary
But still a pain
Something that is always there
Whether I like it or not
