Lori Powell - Wondering

I often sit and wonder
why after all the hard work and pain
there is no gain
with all the sweat and tears
there is still all the fears of failing
we awake to see another day
but after all that where's our pay
our dues our commends
they say all that comes in the end
why try so hard now to reach the top
just to find out your life ends under a rock
a rock filled with words of remembrance
of those who loved you and will never forget you
but yet where is our pay for a life
long trail of heart ache and pain
