Wei Shen was raised in the Old Prosperity housing project in Hong Kong. When Sam "Dogeyes" Lin introduced Wei's older sister Mimi to drugs, she became an addict spiraling into the criminal world of abusive triad members. With Mimi’s addiction allegedly brought on by the underhanded motives of the Sun On Yee, their single mother relocated the family to the U.S. when Wei was 10.

In San Francisco, Wei’s aggressiveness was overlooked due to high marks in school and eventually, the police academy. With his understanding of Asian gangs, and a lack of other qualified Cantonese speaking officers, Wei began his SFPD undercover work among the Tong, the U.S.-based Chinese society with criminal ties to Hong Kong triads. In 2010, Mimi suffered a fatal overdose, leading to Wei’s mother’s suicide.

In Hong Kong, after their last undercover op went south, Superintendent Pendrew requested Wei’s expertise. The Sun On Yee is led by Chairman “Uncle” Po and made up of multiple gangs, each led by a “red pole” or lieutenant. Despite being childhood BFF’s, Dogeyes’ Jade Gang is moving in on fellow red pole Winston Chu’s Water Street Gang territory. Now you must return to Hong Kong to infiltrate the triad responsible for the death of your family, survive the civil war and the rival 18k, and prove where your true loyalties lie.
