Lora Colon - When We Were Together

When me and my love were together
The purpose of life was defined;
We belonged together, like birds of a feather,
We knew we were two of a kind

We knew we belonged together,
A lord and his lady were we;
Like a wave on the shore, like a boat in its moor,
Our union was meant to be

O, we were so happy together,
The love songs he wrote were for me;
Could love be truer, could skies be bluer?
This would last for eternity!

But, you know nothing lasts forever,
Just as Winter gives way to Spring;
He fell to temptation, then prayed for salvation -
Leaving me as the offering
