LOOK: Golf carts inside Bilibid

MANILA – Several golf carts and electronic bicycles were found inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), a report said Friday. A photo sent to Radio dzMM's Eric Dastas showed several golf carts parked outside NBP's maximum security compound, near the office of NBP's Escorting Unit. This was revealed amid reports that several high-profile inmates were receiving VIP treatment from jail officials, with at least three of them allowed to seek medication outside NBP without the approval of the Department of Justice. Superintendent Celso Bravo of the Bureau of Corrections, in an Inquirer report, already denied that the golf carts were used for leisure by the inmates. He said the golf carts, brought by inmates' relatives, were used for security patrols, emergency and transportation services. - dzMM
